Real Experience • Proven Leadership • Trusted Judgment

The Choice is Clear!

I ask for your support as a candidate for Champaign County Sheriff and your vote on election day.

I seek the office based on my 32 years of law enforcement training and experience, which includes 22 years of leadership and management experience. In 2020, I retired as a Lieutenant at the University of Illinois Police Department after 30 years of service. I am currently the Deputy Chief of Police for the Village of Tolono.

I have a Graduate Certificate from the University of Virginia in Criminal Justice Education and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Administration of Justice with a specialization in Law Enforcement and a secondary concentration in Corrections Management. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University.

During the past ten years of my law enforcement career, I have also served Champaign County as the Public Administrator and Public Guardian. In these roles, I work with disabled adults and administer estates in probate and have developed good working relationships with many local attorneys, judges, and social service organizations. Additionally, I am the Mayor of the Village of Savoy; as such, I am the chief executive officer and responsible for the overall management and operation of the village. Prior to my election as Mayor, I served many years as a Village Trustee and volunteer firefighter.

With violent crime on the rise, law enforcement under attack, a planned $20 million jail consolidation, serious staffing and morale issues at the Champaign County Jail, and other serious issues it is more important than ever that Champaign County elect a qualified Sheriff with the training and experience required for the position.
